When to consider hyaluronic acid treatment

Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally present in the body, found in cell walls and bodily fluids. It binds water, which hydrates and smooths tissue and keeps it supple. From around the age of 25, the body's own production of hyaluronic acid begins to decline, and our tissues gradually lose their elasticity and shape.

What does the procedure involve?

The procedure begins with a consultation during which we discuss your needs and wishes, review your medical history and, where relevant, take note of any diagnosis from your gynaecologist. Following a clinical examination, we proceed with the treatment itself.

Local anaesthesia is applied first, after which hyaluronic acid is injected into the relevant areas, where it disperses through the tissue and begins to hydrate and firm it. After the procedure, you are welcome to rest at the clinic for a while before heading home or continuing with your day.

What to expect after the treatment

The effects of the hyaluronic acid last approximately 12 to 18 months, after which a repeat treatment is recommended. With repeated sessions, the effects tend to last longer and the interval between treatments can be extended.
