Information

The HPV test is a new and modern automated method that detects the presence of high-risk HPV types through DNA analysis of a cervical smear. Thanks to this analysis, we are able to accurately determine the presence of HPV viruses and assess the risk of cancer. Compared to traditional cytology, this test allows us to detect the presence of the virus much earlier.

Prevention

HPV tests determine whether an HPV infection is present in the body; a positive result does not necessarily mean that you have an HPV-related disease. However, a negative result does not mean that you are completely risk-free and can therefore ignore the possibility of HPV-related diseases. Sexually transmitted diseases include all infectious diseases that are primarily transmitted through sexual activity (vaginal, oral, or anal intercourse). In some cases, however, infection can occur very rarely through blood transfusions.

The causative agents of these diseases include viruses (genital herpes, genital warts, HIV/AIDS), bacteria (chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis), and parasites (trichomoniasis, pubic lice)

What are the symptoms of the disease?

The symptoms of the infection vary widely, ranging from irregular spotting/bleeding or discharge to the formation of various blisters, bumps, or swollen lymph nodes. It is not uncommon for the infection to begin asymptomatically, or for the symptoms to be nonspecific and often disappear quickly. However, the infectious agent (virus, bacteria, parasite) continues to survive in the human body, multiplies, and after a period of varying duration causes so-called secondary symptoms, such as rashes, fever, muscle and joint pain, and others.

Who is the HPV test suitable for?

The test is suitable for all women over the age of 30 who want to feel secure for the next 3–5 years.

Does insurance cover the test?

Insurance covers this test only in the event of a positive cytology result and based on a doctor’s recommendation. However, a client may request this test at any time and pay for it out of pocket.
